Lie Vs Lay Down The Law - What Is The Difference?

There are some fundamental differences between lying and telling the truth. Both can be effective, but not in the same way. When you tell something to someone, you are committing yourself to it; whereas when you lie you aren't. It's kind of like riding a bike - you don't have to stop and start, or even really commit to what you are doing.

The difference between lying and telling the truth has to do with how you are feeling. People lie for various reasons. Sometimes it is because they don't know the truth, and sometimes it is the truth that they don't know. Lying is a much more intimate act than telling the truth, because it is not a conscious act on the part of the person doing the lying. This means that a person who lies doesn't even realize that they are doing it.

When you lie, your words have much more meaning. If you lie just to hurt someone's feelings, or out of revenge, then your actions are less justified than if you are doing it because you truly believe that the other person is being dishonest or withholding information from you. It may seem like a very small distinction, but it is huge when you consider how important trust is in relationships. Trust is something that most people can not buy, and it is very important. You can't just win someone over to your side by lying to them, because they won't understand or trust you.

Lie Vs Lay Down the Law - What is the Difference?

When you lie, your words take on an entirely different meaning. You aren't just saying what you think the other person wants to hear. In fact, a lot of times you will find that a person will fib about what they are going to say, but they will actually hold back a bit and say it in front of you. You never know if it is true, or if you are just reading the other person's body language. You aren't always sure when a person is trying to pull a fast one on you.

When you lie, your words have no power of their own. They are merely a tool, and the other person can use that tool against you at any time. Your words are not as valuable as what you are saying. You might as well be saying, "Do you really think I am lying?"

Now, we all know that sometimes people will actually try to tell you the truth when they are lying. However, the truth is not always going to be on the same side. People lie about who they are seeing, who their friends are, and sometimes they even fib about who they are doing. Those are lies that have no place in a civilized relationship. Therefore, when you are negotiating it is important to realize the difference between a lie vs lay down the law, and a truth vs dishonesty.

The truth is the only thing that will bring you true happiness. A lie would only give you false hopes and bring you grief. In fact, a lie can even cause harm to someone if it's not told straight out. It will destroy your bond with that person, and they may think that you don't care about them. Instead of trying to hide who you are, you should tell the truth from the beginning.

Remember, you always get what you bargain for. If you tell a lie and someone finds out, they could charge you with something illegal. On the other hand, if you tell the truth, no one can say anything about you. Therefore, the truth always wins.
